The information shared during the pregnancy visits really prepared us for the labor process. Even with an unplanned C section, Taina was there every step of the way providing support and being a sounding board for the decisions that needed to be made regarding my care.

“If you are looking for a doula, look no further. Taina’s many years of experience as a mother including her personal experiences with pregnancy, birth, and breastfeeding definitely influences her ability to be an amazing doula. She provided the knowledge, wisdom, and nurturing, calm presence that I needed as a first time mom throughout my pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum.

The last week and a half or so of my pregnancy was an emotional roller coaster for me, and Taina was always just a text or phone call away to provide me with the encouragement that I needed. Postpartum, it was so nice to fit in some much needed nap time while she watched my baby girl and took care of some household chores.

I was aiming for an unmedicated birth, but due to a very long and exhausting labor I ended up with an epidural and a vacuum extraction. I had a hard time especially in the first few days and weeks after the birth in processing everything that happened and Taina helped me understand and process through my experience.

“I delivered at Piedmont Fayetteville hospital and it was my first time giving birth. I didn’t know what to expect, but Taina guided me through the whole process. Every time the nurses came in, she paid attention to everything that was happening and what was being said; when you are having contractions you can’t really focus as much as you like but she was there to advocate for me and made me feel very safe.
I was in labor for a day and a half and she was right by my side. She was so GREAT that the nurses were so impressed, they asked for her information. After I left the hospital she came and helped watch my baby, while giving me advice. I am so blessed I found someone so kind hearted and patient. For my next pregnancy I will definitely choose her again to be by my side along with my husband.”

She even watched my baby Evan while I took a nap, showered, or just had 5 minutes to myself. I can’t tell you how helpful that was!
